"Lying in his bed, he read to me 'bored like the man who married a mermaid.' Touching his chest hair I thought about your hair and whether fair to me or not, I believed that I let you think it was ok to hurt me. Pink light streamed in and I thought of the rose jam you left in my fridge and the year I spent in rose tint conjuring apparitions of your kindness."
Pather is yet to understand the formulaic act of an artist biography as anything other than proving you should be liked because someone has previously liked you.
She lives and works in Johannesburg as a finger painter and female. Pather is interested in value, rejection and production.
'Everything Must Go' is her second solo exhibition with 99 Loop.
