99 Loop is delighted to participate in the 2018 edition of FNB Joburg Art Fair. The fair will take place from the 6th until the 9th of September at the Sandton Convention Centre, during which we will be located at stand C14.
A selection of new work will be on show by:
Jeanne Hoffman will be showing a combination of paintings and works in ceramic stoneware. Her focus on mapping gestures are visible in both mediums (painting and ceramics) and pertains to sensory and material observations as explored by the artist.
Chris Valentine explores a mixture of classical and contemporary painting through the lens of urban culture. Valentine’s use of portraiture and desolate urban settings creates a distant, yet intriguing mood in his work.
Anastasia Pather is mainly concerned with surface, gender and the South African-Indian ‘aesthetic’. She aims to bring light to perceptions of value, exoticism and eroticism. Pather works in mixed media, which are inclusive of her previously rejected paintings - repurposed for a more novel aesthetic.
Richard Mason has chosen to represent aspects of digital immersion through geometry in his sizable canvasses. His main interest in this new body of work revolves around the notion of "physical glitches" - canvasses cut and sewn; shapes disjointed; unpainted areas; a misalignment: a glitch.
